Arctic Circle Airport

With around 300 million NOK from local businesses, and an equal amount from the local municipality, the Norwegian Government will in one way or another cough up the remaining 1.5 billion NOK they need to realize the brand new Arctic Circle Airport at Mo I Rana, Norway. This will at completion be the new main airport for the entire Helgeland coast of Norway.†

It is hoped that the airport, at completion, will give the economical growth the municipality and county desperately needs. Additionally, the airport is expected to give valuable jobs and perhaps even more inhabitants moving to the area. †

The construction start is not yet decided upon, but the drawings and plans have been widely publicised through local media. The first monetary support from the Norwegian Government is expected to arrive after 2023.†
