Here is a small selection of ships that have used the waterway called Trondheimsfjorden this past year. The so-called cruise-season here is short, and normally limited to a couple of ships during the summer months from end of May to beginning of September. Occasionally, Trondheim does get an occational visitor also during the winter months - those ships are usually sailing to and from the northern part of the country, to look for Aurora Borealis, the Northern Lights.
At CaptainsVoyage Forum, there is a “thread” with lots of additional images from the 2016 Cruise Season in Norway. It shouldn’t be necessary to say that I recommend you checking out the posts if you are keen to see cruise ships in all our Norwegian ports. LINK: 2016 Cruise Season in Norway (opens in a new tab).
Port of Trondheim has also a few days ago announced a preliminary cruise-schedule for the summer of 2017, and sadly, there are in my humble opinion not many great surprises in the lists. I was at least hoping for some new ships, as well as the return of for example Crystal Cruises and a maiden call from Viking Ocean Cruises.
