Crystal Endeavor

It may not be a big surprise, but it excites me beyond words to see the continuing success of my former and probably my life’s best employer - Crystal Cruises. On Monday January 15th 2018, German shipyard MV Werften officially started the construction of Crystal’s new luxury expedition yacht which will be named Crystal Endeavor. This new beautiful yacht is set to debut in 2020, and even before it’s launched, it’s hailed to be the largest and most†spacious purpose-built Polar Class cruise ship.†

Length-wise the Crystal Endeavor will measure some 600 feet (183 meters) in length, and an expected tonnage of †25.000 gross tons. On board, there will be some 100 guest suites.

Named after Captain James Cooks’ research ship HMS Endeavour, which discovered Australia and New Zealand nearly 250 years ago, the newly built vessel will be designed for global expedition in Arctic, Antarctic and tropical regions. The megayacht will have Polar Class 6 designation so will be able to cruise in polar regions during the summer and autumn in medium “first year” ice which may include old ice inclusions.†

Still to this day, the hardest decision I ever had to make in my life, was the decision to resign from Crystal Cruises. It’s also probably the biggest mistake I did in my life. Something I have to live with. But. At the same time, I’m so overly proud and thrilled to learn about the line’s continued success.†

I would love to hear what you think about the coninued success of Crystal Cruises expansions.†
