Laem Chabang opens for short cruises

Laem Chabang port located between Bangkok and Pattaya is opening for short cruises: Hong Kong-based Star Cruises, the world’s third largest cruise line, will use Laem Chabang port in Chonburi as home port for their Superstar Gemini as a move to support Thailand’s growing maritime tourism business. The cruises will start operating from December 17th 2017 and run for about 5 months until April 27th 2018.†

Thai Travel Agent Association is also hoping that the newly announced cruises will speed up the work on creating a good immigration process for all cruise tourists, in order to compete better with other countries in the region. Star Cruises has in the past sailed regularly to Phuket, and the response from International guests had always been quite positive to including Thailand as a port. Thailand is one of the fastest growing tourism industries in the whole Asia Pacific region, while the region is also considered as one of the fastest growing cruise markets.†

The Superstar Gemini will be offering three different packages including a three-night cruise to Sihanoukville, Cambodia and Koh Samui, and a two-night cruise to Sihanoukville and Koh Kong in Cambodia. The cruises will range in price from 8.900 THB to 12.900 THB per person. †
