Aurora Borealis is back

With the start of the Aurora Borealis season just days away, we got a spectacular preview last night. The sky was lit up from west to east, to both the north and the south. It started just after midnight and lasted for little more than one full hour. These three sample images were all taken at extreme ISO (16000 - 25900) and handheld. Capturing the northern lights from a moving ship, in what appears to be a dark night isn’t easy. Neither is it easy to find a fixed point to focus on. But, needless to say, I’m very extatic for the experience last night, and the results.†
