Clean coast - got a free afternoon

One of my biggest annoyances is when I see people toss plastic over board or into the sea, lake or fjord. Plastic doesn’t belong in the water - no room for discussion. Our oceans, our fjords and our lakes are NOT garbage dumps. Seeing garbage in the water really makes me terribly upset to my core, and immensely disappointed with those who doesn’t see why they can’t pollute.

If you got a free afternoon, and live by a coast line anywhere in the world, spend the afternoon picking up and removing the trash!

A 5 min film about marine litter and coastal cleanups, starring plastic-munching plankton. Filmed in the Tromsø area in northern Norway in the summer of 2013. The film aims to show some of the aspects of the global environmental challenge of marine litter and plastics in the oceans and along our coastlines, and that this now affects even the smallest creatures in the sea.

There is a very simple way that most of us can help to solve at least part of this problem. Don't litter, go clean a beach and tell the world about it.

This film was made as part of the Ren Kyst 2013-2014 project which aims to clean up close to 40 badly littered coastline locations in the Tromsø region.
