Here is yet another dive into the hard drive, this time with images dated January 6th. In the first image, we are back to 2003 and Havensight cruiseship pier, Charlotte Amalie, Saint Thomas, US Virgin Islands. I have no recollection, nor any personal notes from this day. The only information from this day that I have, is that I bought a Sector wrist watch at Havensight that day. The ship docked ahead of us is a Carnival… possibly the Carnival Triumph. Oh, and that it was 80 more days to go before vacation!
In the next image, I note the year 2007 - a few months prior to my first of two strikes with dengue fever. This particular image is most likely taken at Erawan waterfall near Sri Nakarin Dam, Kanchanaburi. These guys are some of the best people I have ever met in my life, truly friendly and a whole lot of fun. Till this day, with the help of Facebook, we still keep in touch on nearly daily basis. According to my personal notes, I returned to Bangkok this day because I had an appointment at California Fitness the following day, which was a Sunday. The best information in my personal notes the following day, was my weigh-in at 65.8 kg!
Two years later, from a visit to tropical waterfall in Kanchanaburi, I was back in Norway. The next image is also dated January 6th, but the year is 2009. In the image, I have made the trip to the “mountain” behind Rørvik, Norway, and in the image across the sound, Nærøysundet, we see my Marøy.
Apperantly, I also went to the pier to see the Hurtigrute that night. The image below, with the same date, shows the southbound coastal steamer Nordstjernen on a cold January night prior to her departure for Trondheim.
In the final image from January 6th, we again see the Nordstjernen. This time, exactly a year later, in 2010, we see the ship on an icy cold day at Trondheim, Norway. This would be on her southbound trip as well, I presume.
